Research Engineer – AI Agents & LLM Systems

About the role

Adoc Talent Management is hiring a Research Engineer for AI Agents & LLM Systems to join a global technology client’s AI Agent Research team in Paris. You will work at the forefront of AI research, building and evaluating next‑generation agent systems that reason, plan, and interact with tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑agent systems based on large language and multimodal foundation models.
• Rapidly prototype ideas, explore multiple technical approaches, and iterate on solutions.
• Reproduce and adapt recent research, critically assess approaches, and develop new methods.
• Evaluate system performance, analyse failures, and use results to improve the agents.
• Develop clean, reusable research infrastructure, APIs and internal demos.
• Own end‑to‑end technical projects from problem definition through implementation and evaluation.
• Gather customer feedback when relevant and incorporate it into the solutions.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers while independently driving substantial technical work.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related field.
• Strong programming and software‑engineering skills, especially in Python.
• Experience building non‑trivial AI/ML systems and a practical understanding of large language models.
• Proficiency with PyTorch, experiment design, result analysis and iterative development.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a technical problem and deliver a concrete solution.
• Curiosity, autonomy and comfort with uncertainty, moving quickly from idea to implementation.
