Research Data Associate (Permanent)

About the role

Syngenta is looking for a Research Data Associate to manage, analyse and optimise research and trial data across Europe. The role supports trialing and product placement activities, ensuring data accuracy and delivering actionable insights through automated reporting and digital tools.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain research databases, ensure up‑to‑date trial and registration data, and improve data storage processes.
• Build and maintain automated dashboards and KPI reports, and produce seasonal technical summaries.
• Set up and manage experiments, material workflows and decision groups, providing GIS mapping and data visualisation for trial selection.
• Support and automate phenotypic data collection, validation and processing, including drone alignment and trait quantification.
• Act as regional expert and trainer for digital tools, test new workflows, and promote advanced analytics such as ML/AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Agronomy, GIS, Statistics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in agricultural research data management or analytics.
• Proficiency with database management systems and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, GIS software).
• Experience in experimental design and statistical analysis for agricultural research.
• Familiarity with molecular breeding and phenotyping technologies.
