Pyrotechnics Engineer – Integration & Testing

About the role

Alta Ares is seeking a Pyrotechnics Engineer to lead the integration, testing and qualification of pyrotechnic and military payloads on its airborne platforms. The role combines hands‑on engineering, safety‑critical testing and field operations to ensure reliable performance of interceptors and drones.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate pyrotechnic and military payloads onto drones, interceptors and other airborne systems, defining mechanical, electrical and functional interfaces.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Avionics, Systems and Test teams to drive successful system‑level integration.
• Plan, execute and analyse ground, integration and qualification tests, establishing procedures, acceptance criteria and corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain technical, safety and qualification documentation required for regulatory authorisations.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses and safety reviews to ensure compliance with defence and aerospace regulations.
• Support flight‑test preparation, execution and post‑flight analysis, and contribute to operational demonstrations and deployments.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of experience in pyrotechnics, aerospace or defence, with direct work on military or pyrotechnic payloads.
• Proven experience leading integration, testing and qualification campaigns.
• Experience managing technical documentation and obtaining regulatory approvals for safety‑critical systems.
