Project Management Officer – UpNext Programme

About the role

Airbus UpNext is launching a high‑impact demonstrator to validate breakthrough flight technologies for future Airbus programmes. Based in Toulouse (Saint‑Martin), the Project Management Officer will act as the operational, financial and compliance backbone of this fast‑paced, startup‑like environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the end‑to‑end project budget, analyse monthly actuals and produce accurate Cost at Completion forecasts.
• Own the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), ensuring alignment with the programme schedule.
• Identify, assess and track project risks and opportunities, providing financial valuation and mitigation plans.
• Prepare and deliver budget and delivery KPIs to work‑package leaders ahead of monthly reviews.
• Build funding dossiers and follow up with the CORAC authority.
• Manage the Configuration Management Plan, certify platform conformity and maintain a single document repository.
• Oversee aircraft quality operations, guaranteeing that all ground and flight activities comply with approved quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project or programme management within a complex engineering or aerospace environment.
• Strong financial acumen with a track record of handling large budgets and multiple contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to drive multidisciplinary alignment under tight timelines.
• Comfort working in a flat, fast‑moving organisation that operates like a startup.
