Post-doctoral Fellow in Hollow-Core Fibre Transmission and Sensing

About the role

Télécom Paris, part of the Institut Mines-Télécom, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in transmission and detection using hollow-core photonic crystal fibers (HCPCFs) to join its COMELEC department. The project, within the PLEIADES project of the ANR-funded PEPR "Networks of the Future" program, aims to develop and demonstrate next-generation HCPCFs for high-speed data transmission and sensing, with two complementary groups co-supervising the work.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out research in the field of photonics
• Ensure supervision and tutoring missions
• Contribute to the reputation of the School, the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in electrical engineering, communications, photonics, signal processing or a related field
• Solid understanding of optical transmission systems and networks, and of digital signal processing applied to communication systems or fibre-optic sensors
• Interest in applied research and comfort in a multicultural environment, especially when supervising interns and students
• Good command of English
• Good interpersonal and teaching skills, teamwork and ability to communicate complex information

Required skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for DSP algorithm development is an advantage

What we offer

• Fixed-term contract of 18 months, gross salary of 36,000 EUR per year
• 49 days of annual leave (CA + RTT)
