Patent Counsel

About the role

InterDigital is seeking a Patent Counsel to join its global Patent Department. The role focuses on managing and prosecuting a portfolio of wireless communications patents across multiple jurisdictions, supporting both licensing and litigation strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Prosecute a global patent portfolio across the US, Europe and other jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with inventors, technical experts, and internal licensing and litigation teams.
• Prepare and file patent applications, including US and EP national filings, PCT applications, continuations, divisionals and reissues.
• Strategically develop and manage patent families to maximize licensing value.
• Map patent claims to industry standards and products to support corporate licensing programs.

Required profile

• Qualified patent attorney with experience in patent prosecution.
• Demonstrated expertise in wireless communications technology.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional research, licensing and litigation teams.
• Strong understanding of US, European and PCT filing procedures.
