Painting Supervisor – Shipyard Project Delivery

About the role

The Painting Supervisor will join a leading shipyard’s Project Delivery team, overseeing all painting activities for large commercial and naval vessels. The role ensures that surface preparation, coating application, and quality standards are met while supporting project milestones and dry‑docking schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed painting work schedules aligned with overall project plans.
• Define scope of work, estimate manpower, equipment, and material needs.
• Supervise and coordinate painting subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and deadlines.
• Coordinate daily with the Project Team, production departments, and Vessel Manager.
• Manage the Owner’s paint inventory, support logistics for deliveries, storage, and consumption tracking.
• Participate in production, technical, and progress meetings with internal teams and the Owner’s representatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (QHSE) procedures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or technical qualification in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent.
• 5‑10 years of experience in marine or industrial painting and protective coating systems.
• Strong understanding of surface preparation methods and coating application techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and work procedures.
