Non‑Road Machinery & Stationary Engines Expert (Consultant)

About the role

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) seeks an expert to develop a comprehensive sectoral guidance on clean non‑road machinery and stationary engines. Working remotely for six months on a part‑time basis, the consultant will support UNEP’s Air Quality Management Exchange Platform (AQMx) by delivering actionable recommendations and curating key resources.

Key responsibilities

• Write an approximately 8,000‑word sectoral guidance paper on clean non‑road machinery and stationary engines.
• Identify and curate at least 30 supporting resources (reports, scientific publications, databases, tools) for the AQMx Resource Exchange Library.
• Provide concrete, hands‑on recommendations for programme design and implementation, including documentation of success stories suitable for replication.
• Collaborate with the CCAC secretariat and UNEP Industry & Economy Division to ensure alignment with the Clean Air Flagship objectives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in non‑road machinery, stationary engines, or related air‑quality and climate mitigation fields.
• Experience producing technical guidance documents or policy papers of substantial length.
• Strong analytical ability to assess and synthesize scientific literature and practical tools.
• Capacity to work independently on a part‑time basis for a six‑month period.
