Methods Engineer – Production Optimization

About the role

Umicore Specialty Powders France is seeking a Methods Engineer to drive reliability and optimisation across its production processes. Reporting to the Innovation Manager, you will work cross‑functionally with production, design, R&D and quality teams to enhance competitiveness, quality, safety and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse current production workflows, identify inefficiencies and propose corrective actions.
• Implement measurement tools, collect and analyse production data to monitor performance.
• Design, develop and roll out new working methods and production tools that increase profitability and ensure product quality.
• Create standardised procedures, tools and operating methods for consistent production.
• Contribute to the design and layout of production lines and workstations.
• Configure technical data in ERP systems (items, ranges, parts lists, production rates, etc.).
• Train staff on new methods, technical developments and best practices.
• Promote awareness of quality, safety and environmental benefits linked to the new methods.
• Define, implement and monitor performance indicators, analysing data to drive continuous improvement.
• Stay informed on technological developments to introduce innovative methods and best practices.
