Merchandise Planner – Luxury Fashion

About the role

The Merchandise Planner will drive global sales planning, inventory optimisation and reorder management for Saint Laurent’s product categories. Working closely with collection, retail, buying, supply‑chain and production teams, the role ensures accurate forecasts and alignment between market opportunities and supply planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain seasonal and carry‑over sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends and business objectives.
• Lead monthly Best Estimate reviews with regional teams to ensure forecast accuracy and business alignment.
• Build and continuously refine sales plans to support inventory investments, open‑to‑buy management and growth opportunities.
• Provide actionable recommendations on sales performance, forecast evolution, inventory requirements and seasonal trends.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify key drivers impacting performance across regions and channels.
• Monitor global business performance by category, collection, product line, function, region and channel.
• Analyse key performance indicators to identify risks and opportunities and support proactive decision‑making.
• Prepare Best Estimate sales projections, business insights and reorder recommendations for monthly Merchandise Planning meetings.
• Develop scenario analyses to support strategic business decisions.
• Define monthly reorder requirements to ensure optimal stock levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience in merchandise planning, sales forecasting or related analytical roles.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret KPI data and market trends.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with collection, retail, buying, supply‑chain and production teams.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights and recommendations to regional stakeholders.
