About the role

The Centre Hospitalier Général de Saint-Nazaire is seeking a dedicated physician to join its Palliative Care Unit. The role involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients in the inpatient unit, mobile team, and outpatient consultation, within a region covering 1,340 km² from southern Morbihan to northern Vendée.

Key responsibilities

• Medical management of patients in the Palliative Care Unit (symptom control, therapeutic decisions, and development of individualized palliative projects).
• Conducting palliative care consultations and supporting emergency and complex cases.
• Participating in ethical discussions, collegial decision‑making, and ensuring continuity of the patient’s palliative pathway.
• Analyzing practice, leading team meetings, and contributing to quality‑improvement initiatives at the hospital and regional level.
• Teaching and supervising interns, trainees, and delivering courses for initial and continuing education.
• Engaging in research activities, scientific writing, and collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Medical degree (DES) in general medicine, oncology, geriatrics, or related field.
• Additional qualification in palliative care (DESC, FST, DIU) or substantial experience in the specialty.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and continuous improvement of palliative care services.
