Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to develop innovative electromechanical systems for therapeutic devices, research tools, robotics, and surgical equipment. The role spans work from micron‑scale components to large‑scale systems, collaborating across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build electromechanical systems ranging from medical‑grade wearables to specialized research tools and surgical equipment.
• Validate system performance in laboratory, wet‑lab, and operating‑room environments.
• Rapidly prototype, fabricate, and test concepts, owning the full fabrication pipeline.
• Collaborate with electrical, optical, software, micro‑fabrication, biology, quality, and surgical teams to bring products to market.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, ambiguous design spaces and deliver functional systems.
• Hands‑on fabrication experience with rapid prototyping, CNC machining, and injection molding.
• Detail‑oriented self‑starter comfortable with open‑ended problems and quick pivots.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of precision mechanical design, materials science, design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFMA).
• Experience with microfluidics, optomechanics, and rapid prototyping tools.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, injection molding, and basic machine‑shop techniques.
• Ability to perform FEA and other simulations (stress/strain, thermal, flow).
• Understanding of biomaterials, ISO 10993, and surgical techniques.
