Mechanical Engineer – Hardware Team (Bordeaux)

About the role

Join Pony’s Hardware team in Bordeaux as a Mechanical Engineer. You will work closely with the Head of Hardware and the senior mechanical engineer to design, prototype, test, and continuously improve our unique double‑pony e‑bike.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance 3D vehicle models, design new parts and produce manufacturing drawings.
• Prototype designs using in‑house 3D printing and validate integration on actual vehicles.
• Identify and engage production partners for manufactured components.
• Design and execute tests on bike configurations, geometry, wheel size and electric assist strategies.
• Organise field trials, document results and evaluate sourced components through hands‑on testing.
• Collect and analyse field‑team issue reports, investigate root causes and propose concrete improvements.
• Support maintenance teams with technical queries, part changes and testing rigs, and create technical documentation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from a top engineering school.
• At least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, technical drawing, material selection and mechanical dimensioning.
• Ability to work quickly, test assumptions and iterate based on results.
• Clear communication of technical topics to field staff and management.
