Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer – Full-time, Lozanne

About the role

As a Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer you will ensure that products transitioning from design to full production remain reliable, cost‑effective, and easy to build throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to maintain product intent while driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Engineering Work Requests (EWRs) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) focused on manufacturability, cost, reliability, and value engineering.
• Support supply‑chain continuity by evaluating alternate components when facing obsolescence, long lead times, or price spikes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply‑chain, and design engineering to roll out changes without compromising product intent.
• Analyze yields and process capability (Cp/Cpk) to identify needed line tuning or tooling adjustments.
• Optimize assembly steps, tooling, testing procedures, and quality controls to improve manufacturability.
• Maintain and update production documentation such as 3D models, drawings, test specifications, BOMs, labels, and manuals.
• Champion product reliability by feeding lessons learned back to design teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar industrial engineering role.
• Fluent in French and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience using PLM and ERP systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and GD&T tolerances.
• Strong analytical skills for yield and capability analysis.
