Life Cycle Initiative Internship

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking two interns to support its Life Cycle Initiative, a public‑private partnership that promotes life‑cycle thinking for sustainable consumption and production. Based in Paris with a remote option, the six‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in research, data analysis and stakeholder outreach across high‑impact sectors such as buildings, mining and textiles.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Programme Officers with research, data collection and hotspot analysis related to life‑cycle thinking.
• Support the mainstreaming of life‑cycle approaches in sectors like construction, extractives and textiles.
• Prepare outreach materials, draft documents, minutes and presentations for partners and members.
• Maintain and update the initiative’s member and sponsor database.
• Contribute to communications activities, including social‑media posts and website content.
• Help organise meetings, events and logistical arrangements.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in environmental studies, sustainability, engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in life‑cycle assessment, sustainable consumption and production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Required skills
