Lecturer & Researcher in Civil Engineering and Porous Media

About the role

The Institute invites an experienced academic to join the Materials Center (C2MA) as an Associate Professor. The position combines teaching, research, and technology transfer in civil engineering and porous media.

Key responsibilities

• Teach civil engineering, structural analysis, BIM and related subjects (minimum 150 h/year) across multiple programmes.
• Lead multidisciplinary design projects and supervise student research.
• Conduct research on thermo‑hygro‑chemomechanical modelling and experimental characterisation of porous construction materials.
• Develop and manage research contracts, grant proposals and industry collaborations.

Required profile

• Engineering or Master’s degree in civil engineering or sustainable building and a Ph.D. in civil engineering or materials science.
• Proven teaching experience in civil engineering and construction materials, with innovative pedagogical methods.
• Strong research record, publications and ability to secure scientific collaborations.
• Fluent scientific English; international experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Numerical thermo‑hygro‑chemomechanical (THCM) modelling.
• Laboratory characterisation of porous media (porosity, permeability, diffusivity, saturation).
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) and structural analysis.
• Project management and technology transfer.
