Laboratory Team Leader, Drug Development

About the role

This position leads a multidisciplinary laboratory team in early‑stage drug development, covering both biologics and small molecules. Based in central France, the role bridges Translational Sciences, Immunoanalysis, Bioanalysis and non‑clinical development to deliver high‑quality scientific outputs from research to proof‑of‑concept.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage scientists, post‑doctoral researchers, technicians and research associates.
• Oversee day‑to‑day lab operations, ensuring timely delivery of robust data.
• Drive non‑clinical activities such as in‑vitro pharmacology, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetics and bioanalysis.
• Maintain compliance with EHS, regulatory and GxP standards.
• Plan CAPEX, manage equipment, and coordinate with vendors and CROs.
• Act as a central liaison across Translational Sciences, Bioanalysis and Immunoanalysis teams.
• Develop talent through coaching, performance management and career planning.
• Optimise lab processes, documentation and knowledge‑sharing platforms (eLN, SharePoint, Teams).
• Support strategic decisions on assay feasibility, outsourcing and scientific direction.

Required profile

• PhD in Life Sciences with post‑doctoral experience.
• Proven experience managing laboratory teams of 5+ members in biotech, pharma or CRO settings.
• Strong background in non‑clinical drug development (in‑vitro pharmacology, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetics, bioanalysis).
• Demonstrated leadership in matrix environments.
• Fluent in English and French.
