Junior Professor Chair – Immunopathology of Infectious Diseases

About the role

The position is a 4‑year tenure‑track Junior Professor Chair at the PIMIT Laboratory, focusing on the immunopathology of infectious diseases in tropical island environments. The successful candidate will lead cutting‑edge research on host‑pathogen interactions, innate immunity, arboviruses, zoonotic diseases, infection persistence, disease severity, and emerging infectious diseases in tropical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an independent research programme on tropical infectious diseases.
• Secure external funding, including the €200k ANR package.
• Collaborate with strong clinical and population cohorts from Réunion Island.
• Publish high‑impact scientific articles and present findings internationally.
• Provide teaching in infectious diseases, immunology and global health.

Required profile

• PhD in immunology, microbiology, infectious diseases or a related field.
• Strong publication record in host‑pathogen or innate immunity research.
• Experience with arboviruses, zoonotic or emerging tropical infections.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, translational research environment.
