Junior Mechanical & Piping Designer (Draftsman)

About the role

Bilfinger is looking for a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer (Draftsman) to join a nuclear power plant design project near Paris, France. The position is ideal for recent graduates or engineers with up to two years of experience who want to develop their piping design skills in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review completed detail design and verify piping isometrics against process diagrams and 3D model.
• Split isometrics into individual spools and add shop/field weld annotations.
• Prepare design data for fabrication under supervision of senior team members.
• Support documentation and ensure compliance with project standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design Technology or related field.
• 0‑2 years of design experience in industrial plants.
• Willingness to travel and learn on the job.
• Good command of English for communication.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of PDMS (Plant Design Management System).
• Understanding of pipe design and isometric preparation.
