Human and Organisational Factors Specialist in Robotics

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Human and Organisational Factors (HOF) Specialist in Robotics to join its HOF Center of Expertise in Toulouse. You will apply HOF and user‑centered design principles to robotics and industrial machinery, enhancing production efficiency, safety and operator health.

Key responsibilities

• Lead human‑factors studies such as task analysis, usability testing and heuristic evaluations for robotics and industrial machines.
• Identify and de‑risk HOF risks related to human‑robot interaction, workload, situation awareness, display logic and industrial HMIs, and provide actionable design recommendations.
• Produce high‑quality reports and presentations for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop and deliver HOF/HRI guidance, awareness sessions and training materials for production sites.

Required profile

• Background in Human Factors, Cognitive Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychology, HCI or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of HOF professional experience in highly regulated industries (aviation, rail, nuclear, military).
• Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods and industry HOF/HMI standards.
• Advanced level of English; additional languages such as French, Spanish or German are a plus.

• Industrial HMI design standards.
• Collaboration with UX designers and robotics engineers in Agile and Waterfall environments.
