Head of Tax & Insurance – France

About the role

Shape how Novartis navigates complex tax and insurance matters in France while building a high‑performing, future‑ready team. Based in Paris, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Country CFO and Global Tax, leading the tax and insurance agenda across all French entities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute tax and insurance strategy for Novartis France, collaborating with local and global stakeholders.
• Provide counsel on French, EU and international tax developments and their business impact.
• Own end‑to‑end tax compliance, risk management, audits, disputes and negotiations with French tax authorities.
• Oversee transfer pricing governance, documentation and intercompany pricing, working with finance and treasury.
• Drive tax planning for transactions and restructurings, identifying technology solutions to improve transparency and efficiency.
• Coach, develop and lead the France tax team, setting priorities and building capabilities.

Required profile

• University degree in Law or Business Administration with additional tax qualification.
• Extensive experience leading French corporate tax matters in a complex, international environment.
• Proven track record managing tax audits, disputes and negotiations with French authorities.
• Strong knowledge of international tax topics such as transfer pricing and tax transparency.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership experience, including coaching and change management.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English.

Required skills

• Expertise in French corporate tax compliance and risk management.
• Experience with transfer pricing documentation and governance.
• Knowledge of BEPS Pillar Two, tax transparency and R&D tax credits.
