Head of Insurance Legal Counsel

About the role

Alan is building the new standard in prevention insurance and needs a senior legal leader to shape its regulatory strategy. As Head of Insurance Legal Counsel you will own the insurance compliance posture, influence regulatory evolution and act as the legal voice in strategic business discussions.

Key responsibilities

• Define Alan’s regulatory strategy, turning complex constraints into business advantages.
• Translate regulatory obligations into operational tools, lead inspections and report compliance risks to the board.
• Maintain productive relationships with insurance regulators and public affairs teams.
• Lead legal responses to major RFPs, negotiate complex contracts and define offer strategies for large accounts.
• Ensure product designs meet regulatory requirements while enhancing member experience.
• Oversee insurance compliance across all markets where Alan operates.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as an insurance legal counsel or regulator liaison.
• Proven track record in regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑growing, international insurtech environment.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of insurance regulations in Europe and Canada.
• Expertise in compliance program design and implementation.
• Ability to translate legal requirements into business processes.
