Head of Export Control & Sanctions Regulatory

About the role

Airbus Commercial is seeking a senior leader to head its Export Control & Sanctions Regulatory function. Based in Toulouse, the role ensures that Airbus complies with all export control and sanctions regulations worldwide, fostering a strong compliance culture across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of seven compliance experts located primarily in Europe.
• Design, update and deploy export control policies related to sanctions and product classification.
• Oversee implementation of policies and promote a consistent, group‑wide approach.
• Provide training on sanctions and classification for exposed populations.
• Manage the Legal Expert Group on sanctions and raise awareness within Airbus Legal & Compliance.
• Reinforce the compliance network across Airbus Commercial, Defence & Space, and Helicopters.
• Conduct regulatory watch on sanctions, share updates with subsidiaries and advise business on embargoes and diversions.
• Co‑lead projects reviewing processes and tools applicable to aircraft export compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in export control, sanctions compliance and classification strategy.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary compliance teams.
• Strong knowledge of international sanctions regimes and export control legislation.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders across legal, commercial and operational functions.
