Head of Digital Software Engineering

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Head of Digital Software Engineering to lead its Digital Department in Toulouse, France. Reporting to the Head of Digital Infrastructure and Platforms, you will be responsible for steering a portfolio of digital products and services that support Airbus Commercial, its divisions, and subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and train a team of 100 engineers across Europe (Germany, France, UK) and India.
• Define and communicate the technical and business vision for software engineering at scale.
• Manage a platform‑based approach, focusing on lowering total cost of ownership, mass‑scale adoption and customer value.
• Drive software development excellence through data‑centric metrics and KPIs embedded in digital supply‑chain contracts.
• Develop team members through coaching, upskilling and career progression initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, multi‑location engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of digital product platforms, API integration and DevOps practices.
• Ability to balance technical depth with business impact and stakeholder alignment.
• Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated, high‑tech environment is a plus.
