Full-Time PACU Registered Nurse

About the role

The Post‑Operative Registered Nurse (PACU RN) provides high‑quality post‑surgical care under the supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU Manager or Director of Nursing. This full‑time position supports patients across the age continuum in a fast‑paced recovery environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff while maintaining patient‑centered care.
• Deliver direct patient care in the PACU, performing assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
• Prepare patient care areas based on daily surgical schedules and specific patient needs.
• Conduct pre‑operative interviews, obtain informed consent, and document diagnostic results.
• Complete post‑anesthesia records, verify discharge criteria, and provide post‑operative instructions.
• Perform charge duties as needed and communicate patient progress to families and clinical teams.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with current state licensure.
• Minimum two years of experience in ICU, Emergency Room, Recovery Room, or another critical‑care setting.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and accrediting body regulations.
• Willingness to engage in professional development and goal‑setting activities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
