French Tax Manager – EMEA Consumer

About the role

Amazon EU is seeking a French Tax Manager to shape and execute its European tax strategy, with a focus on France. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external authorities, translating complex tax regulations into actionable guidance that supports business growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate tax audits and litigations in France, including preparing deliverables and meeting with tax authorities.
• Maintain relationships with external tax consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to provide tax input on new business initiatives and ongoing queries.
• Deliver detailed tax analysis and recommendations for corporate projects.
• Communicate complex tax concepts in clear terms to non‑tax professionals.
• Ensure compliance with the group’s European business structure.
• Assess the impact of current and upcoming tax laws on Amazon’s operations.

Required profile

• Professional tax, accounting or legal qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, CTA, CIOT or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of VAT in the EU/UK.
• Deep understanding of tax compliance principles, regulations and reporting across jurisdictions.
• Experience in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department.
• Tax advisory experience (excluding routine compliance).
• Background in direct tax roles within multinational or professional organisations.
• Experience dealing with tax authorities and cross‑border transactions.
• Expertise in European tax laws, particularly French tax law.
