Flammability Substantiation Engineer – Cabin Systems

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Flammability Substantiation Engineer to join the STC Solutions Programme in Toulouse. You will act as a bridge between engineering departments and certification engineers, ensuring compliance of cabin retrofit solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Author substantiation reports for cabin retrofits, meeting time, cost and quality targets.
• Review external flammability documentation from vendors and participate in alignment meetings.
• Manage and validate compliance reports (flammability, environmental) for ATA25 modifications, proposing recovery plans when needed.
• Organise and oversee flammability and environmental testing for development or certification.
• Coordinate qualification and substantiation activities for airline cabin upgrades, connectivity upgrades and customer support topics.
• Provide technical expertise on material choice and decoration in collaboration with SRS stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in material flammability or related fields.
• Degree in aeronautical or material engineering.
• Good knowledge of cabin aircraft systems (a plus) and CS25 regulation.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
