Field Engineer – Structured Cabling & Network Installation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer to join our team and support the installation, upgrade, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling, Ethernet, fiber optic, Wi‑Fi and telecommunications networks for managed broadband customers across France.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in remote and on‑site project meetings with project managers, engineers, contractors and customers.
• Conduct pre‑installation site surveys, produce detailed reports and recommendations.
• Prepare installation documentation such as risk assessments, method statements and quality‑assurance checklists.
• Supervise subcontracted teams during deployment of Wi‑Fi solutions, data networks and telecommunications equipment.
• Provide proactive field support, respond to technical issues and service requests.
• Perform installation testing, commissioning and customer acceptance procedures.
• Carry out on‑site quality‑assurance reviews to ensure compliance with project and safety standards.
• Maintain and support Wi‑Fi, data and telecommunications networks across assigned sites.
• Troubleshoot faults, execute repairs and maintenance as directed.
• Manage site material inventory and report stock usage and future equipment needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in IT, networking or telecommunications environments.
• Hands‑on experience installing and testing structured cabling, Ethernet and fiber‑optic infrastructure.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder communication skills.
• Process‑driven, proactive and accountable work approach.
• Willingness to travel regularly and flexibility during busy project periods.
• Full, valid driving licence (mandatory).
