Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer – Military Derivatives

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is creating a new team within its Military Derivatives department. The Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer will support the design, analysis and validation of metallic, composite and hybrid structures for military aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and validate metallic parts and composite/hybrid structures for fatigue and damage tolerance.
• Prepare and review stress dossiers, justification reports and test programmes.
• Define justification approaches and monitor progress with technical authority support.
• Assist manufacturing by assessing non‑conformities on structural elements.
• Collaborate closely with design engineers and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including civil and military authorities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis.
• Strong autonomy, adaptability, synthetic thinking and good communication skills.
• Advanced English and Spanish (both written and spoken); French is a plus.
• Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
