Economic Modelling Consultant for Brazil SLCP Action Plan

About the role

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and the Stockholm Environment Institute are seeking an Economic Modelling Consultant to support Brazil’s National Clean Air and Climate Action Plan for Short‑Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP). The consultant will work remotely from Paris, with a short technical mission to Brasilia, to provide rigorous economic analysis that informs policy prioritisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and propose robust economic methodologies for evaluating SLCP mitigation measures.
• Conduct cost‑benefit and socioeconomic impact analyses of selected actions.
• Integrate economic findings with existing emissions scenario models.
• Prepare evidence‑based recommendations for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
• Collaborate closely with the project team, SEI partners, and CCAC stakeholders.
• Support alignment of the SLCP Action Plan with Brazil’s broader climate and NDC strategies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in economics, environmental economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in economic modelling and policy analysis, preferably in climate or air quality contexts.
• Familiarity with Brazil’s environmental policy framework is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality analytical outputs within a four‑month timeframe.
