Design and Accommodation Engineer - Space Products and Telecom Satellites

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Design and Accommodation Responsible (F/M) to join its team in the Toulouse area. You will be responsible for the design and optimal accommodation of space products and telecom satellites, ensuring efficient use of space and compliance with all technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and accommodation studies for space products and telecom satellites, taking into account structural, thermal, electrical and operational constraints.
• Develop and optimise layout solutions for satellite platforms and payloads, including equipment placement, harness routing and antenna integration.
• Validate design choices through detailed analysis, covering manufacturability (MCI, tolerancing) and performance against specifications.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, electrical and RF engineers on an integrated design approach.
• Define and manage interfaces and kits between satellite subsystems and components.
• Prepare technical documentation such as design descriptions, accommodation reports and interface control documents.
• Take part in design reviews and technical meetings, and contribute to new design methodologies and tools.
• Ensure compliance with project schedule, budget and quality standards, follow Design Office processes and drive subcontracted work packages.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in the design and accommodation of space products or telecom satellites.
• Strong understanding of satellite architecture and subsystems.
• Knowledge of space environment constraints (thermal, radiation, vibration).
• Experience with configuration management.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of the DDMS context.
