Database Administrator – Cloud & AI Platform

About the role

Scaleway is looking for a Database Administrator to maintain and enhance both internal and public‑facing database infrastructure. You will help ensure scalability, security and long‑term performance of the platforms that power our cloud and AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve internal databases (updates, bug fixes, optimisations, automation, deployments, de‑commissions).
• Support public database services and integrate new engine features such as replication, high availability and backup strategies.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents and bugs affecting databases.
• Improve the technical stack used for database management and automation.
• Deploy new database instances and design robust backup, snapshot, replication and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Use tools like Ansible and Docker to support infrastructure and automation.
• Collaborate with developers and other DBAs to promote best practices.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and contribute to design reviews.

Required profile

• Solid experience administering at least one major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle) in production environments.
• Ability to deploy, maintain and automate database instances.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
