Critical Environment Program Manager

About the role

The Critical Environment Program Manager (CEPM) is responsible for the operational excellence of mechanical and electrical infrastructure in Microsoft data centers. You will ensure service continuity, mitigate risk, and drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
• Maintain uptime and reliability through proactive monitoring, risk mitigation, and incident review (RCA) processes.
• Lead operational excellence by governing maintenance procedures, change management, and safety compliance.
• Partner with engineering teams, vendors, and landlord partners to optimize data‑center performance and resolve issues.
• Identify and reduce risks, minimizing human error and high‑impact incidents.
• Support emergency response readiness as an escalation point for facilities‑related incidents.
• Drive cost‑optimization and energy‑efficiency initiatives and report key metrics such as power, temperature, and SLA performance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in data‑center operations or other critical‑environment settings (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, healthcare, pharmaceutical).
• Experience supporting mission‑critical services and high‑availability infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a data‑center context.
