Construction Manager – On-site (Pont-de-Claix)

About the role

Solvay is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the on‑site team at its Pont‑de‑Claix (Isère, France) facility. You will ensure that all construction activities comply with safety, environmental, and technical standards while meeting budget and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE governance on the site, ensuring all personnel follow project‑specific safety rules.
• Prepare work plans and risk assessments, authorising the start of activities.
• Coordinate with the engineering consultancy ERM to guarantee work quality and acceptance.
• Report deviations to the Solvay Project Manager and defend Solvay’s interests with subcontractors.
• Oversee compliance with French construction regulations, including Decree 94 for closed sites.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction.
• Proven experience in a similar role within an industrial or remediation environment.
• External contractors’ safety training: Chemical Risk Level 2.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and assertively facilitate.
• Rigor, autonomy, and resilience.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract of 6 months, renewable.
• On‑site work model in Pont‑de‑Claix.
• Base salary range €53,000 – €67,000 per year, plus a competitive total rewards package.
