Business Unit Director - Connected Technologies

About the role

Our client, an established international technology company, is seeking a Business Unit Director to own and grow a specialised portfolio of connected, industrial and high‑reliability electronic solutions. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines P&L responsibility, product strategy, market expansion and cross‑functional leadership in a technically advanced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of revenue, profitability, budget and performance of the business unit.
• Define and execute long‑term business, market and product strategy.
• Identify new customer segments, partnerships and international growth opportunities.
• Guide product portfolio priorities based on market demand and technology trends.
• Oversee investment planning and allocation of development resources.
• Build executive‑level relationships with strategic customers and ecosystem partners.
• Lead business development initiatives and complex commercial partnerships.
• Align engineering, product, operations and sales teams around shared objectives.
• Establish performance indicators and drive execution against targets.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of senior experience in high‑tech, electronics, wireless or connected‑product industries.
• Proven track record leading a business unit, product organisation or substantial commercial portfolio.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership, budgeting and profitable growth.
• Successful experience in market expansion, product strategy or strategic business development.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary technical and commercial teams.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Willingness to work fully on‑site in Switzerland.
