Boat Maintenance Technician (F/H)

About the role

Le Boat, part of the Travelopia group, is recruiting a Maintenance Technician (F/H) in Hesse, France, to prepare the boat yard for the upcoming season. The role covers receiving boats, winter preparations, spring commissioning, fall hauling and stocking the marine shop. It suits recent graduates and experienced technicians, with a start date of immediate.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet to the highest standards and ensure boats are in impeccable condition for presentation.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules.
• Install electrical and mechanical equipment and carry out small fiberglass repairs (training provided).
• Work with the Head Technician on mechanical maintenance and repairs of 36 and 45 ft fiberglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane and hydraulic connections.
• Take part in hauling, launching, commissioning, de-commissioning and gas dock operations as required.
• Travel to off-site locations for emergency repairs and work on duty call-out rotation, which may cover the region.

Required profile

• Technical studies or hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps or general maintenance.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to work on site in Hesse.
• Fluency in English and French, and full eligibility to work in France.
• Previous boat maintenance experience, knowledge of marine diesels, and German are advantageous.

Required skills

• Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Good communication skills within the maintenance team and with customers.
• Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions is a plus.
