Automation & Process Control Engineer (W/M)

About the role

Air Liquide France Industrie, part of Air Liquide, produces and markets industrial gases in France through four business lines: Large Industry, Industrial Merchant, Electronics and Hydrogen. It is looking for an Automation & Process Control Engineer (W/M) to work as a Project Technical Referent for electricity and instrumentation, supporting the project from development through execution and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Determine the best technical solutions, contribute to benchmarking and estimation, and prepare technical documentation
• Coordinate discipline activities and support the project manager and site supervisors during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Act as Design Authority for critical equipment validation and audit installations and suppliers
• Support technical presentations to customers and help develop new standards
• Analyse customer needs, review or develop technical solutions, and take part in cost estimation and technical offer checks
• Support procurement by pre-selecting and qualifying suppliers and subcontractors, and develop material requisitions, data sheets, specifications and ITPs
• Prepare technical tabulations and bid evaluations, follow up vendors after purchase orders, and support quality control, inspections and tests
• Support site supervisors during erection, manage external engineering specialists, and keep project schedules and budgets under control
• Provide technical assistance to internal customers, contribute to tools and standards, and help train new project managers

Required profile

• Engineering or technician degree
• At least 5 years of experience in electricity and instrumentation in a primary production context
• Advanced English and French
• Availability for occasional missions or trips within the SWE cluster

Required skills

• Knowledge of IMS and applicable standards, safety rules and European and SWE regulations
• Strong technical knowledge of pressure, flow, temperature, thermodynamics, PID drawing and process analysis
• Electrical engineering: medium/high voltage, functional analysis, FAT/SAT
• PLC and DCS programming; knowledge of YOKOGAWA and FOXBORO is an advantage
