Associate Director – Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

About the role

Our client is expanding its portfolio of mission‑critical and data‑centre projects across France. They are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead the technical delivery of large‑scale data‑centre and mission‑critical programmes, providing engineering leadership, client management and commercial oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple mission‑critical and data‑centre projects.
• Conduct design reviews, oversee engineering calculations and ensure high‑quality technical deliverables.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Maintain design governance, quality standards and compliance with industry codes.
• Manage key client relationships and support fee proposals and commercial delivery.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the highest technical standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering; Chartered Engineer preferred.
• 15–20 years of consultancy experience delivering large‑scale data‑centre and mission‑critical projects.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams and managing key client accounts.
• Experience in an international engineering consultancy environment.

Required skills

• Mission‑critical and data‑centre engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Design of Tier III and Tier IV facilities, resilient infrastructure, N+1 and 2N redundancy, Concurrent Maintainability.
• Energy‑efficient design, PUE optimisation.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, EN 50600 and Uptime Institute standards.
