Assistant Professor – Indoor Environmental Quality

About the role

The Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT Nord Europe) seeks a permanent Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching in Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) within its Centre for Education, Research and Innovation Energy and Environment (CERI EE). The role combines high‑level scientific investigation with technology transfer and curriculum development, supporting the institution's mission to address climate change, energy transition, and occupant well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead cutting‑edge research on indoor air quality, pollutant source identification, and the interaction between indoor environments and occupant health.
• Initiate, coordinate, and manage regional, national, and European research projects, including contract research with industry partners.
• Supervise PhD, post‑doctoral, and Master’s students, and prepare for French research supervision accreditation (HDR).
• Contribute to teaching programmes in Energy Engineering and Environmental Engineering, and deliver lectures for specialised Master’s programmes.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., indoor air quality, physical chemistry of air, building energy performance).
• Strong publication record in international journals and conferences.
• Experience in securing research funding and establishing industry collaborations.
• Ability to integrate interdisciplinary research across energy, fluids, and environmental science.
