Area Sales Manager – Polyolefins & Extrusion (France)

About the role

Our client, a leading European distributor of polymers and thermoplastic solutions, is expanding its commercial footprint in France. The Area Sales Manager – Polyolefins & Extrusion will be based in the Lyon region (home‑office) and will drive growth of the polymer portfolio across key industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop sales of commodity and specialty polymers for extrusion, film, blow molding and rotational molding.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of processors, extruders and compounders.
• Identify and acquire new customers through proactive business development.
• Provide technical support for material selection and application.
• Prepare commercial offers, pricing proposals and sales forecasts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions and industry events.
• Report sales activities and pipeline development regularly.
• Collaborate with internal technical, logistics and supplier teams to ensure high service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with solid technical understanding of polymers.
• Proven experience in business development and key‑account management within the plastics industry.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
