Applications Specialist – Cooling Water & RO/Membrane Treatment

About the role

We are looking for an Applications Specialist who will support Solenis’ European sales organization by providing technical expertise on cooling water and reverse‑osmosis (RO) membrane systems. The role focuses on delivering solutions that improve performance, reliability and sustainability for industrial water‑treatment customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site technical support during customer visits, surveys, audits and troubleshooting of cooling‑water and RO membrane installations.
• Prepare technical recommendations, system assessments and presentations for proposals and tenders.
• Develop optimisation programs, technical reports and case studies that enhance water efficiency and sustainability.
• Deliver training and knowledge‑sharing sessions for customers, sales teams and internal stakeholders.
• Support new‑product introductions, field validation and collaboration with R&D.
• Maintain application documentation, digital tools and SharePoint resources.
• Assist with digital monitoring, automation and data‑driven optimisation solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory and Product Management.
• Travel extensively across Europe (approximately 50‑70% of the time).

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Technology or a related field.
• Significant experience in industrial water treatment, especially cooling‑water systems, boiler water and RO/membrane applications.
• Proven expertise in scale and corrosion control, microbiological control and system optimisation.
• Familiarity with engineering firms, OEMs or EPC contractors and relevant water‑treatment regulations is a plus.
