AI Documentation Intern – Engineering Trainee

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for an engineering trainee to join its team in Brétigny-sur-Orge on a full-time basis. The internship focuses on building an AI-powered documentation system: selecting a document database, indexing documents and developing extraction routines using coding and AI.

Key responsibilities

• Select a document database and index a first batch of documents
• Identify the document structure and classify the types of source data in the database
• Write extraction routines (coding and AI) and build and evaluate a proof of concept
• Test the semi-automated production of a first unknown document, assess its performance and propose further developments
• Apply the tooling to other types of sources, equipment and projects

Required profile

• In training as an engineer
• Good communication, writing and synthesis skills
• Ability to understand complex topics and work in a team
• Basic cybersecurity awareness
• Willingness to convince others, with analytical and teaching spirit
• Autonomy and good listening skills

Required skills

• Good knowledge of AI systems
• Document indexing and database management
