Advanced Perception System Designer

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an Advanced Perception System Designer to join its Robotics Development department in Toulouse. The role focuses on designing and integrating sensor suites that enable robots to perceive and interact with complex industrial environments in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Define and design robust sensor suites (cameras, profilometers) for specific industrial constraints.
• Develop and optimise high‑performance perception algorithms in C++ and Python with zero‑latency budgets.
• Lead intrinsic and extrinsic calibration of complex sensor configurations to ensure spatial data integrity.
• Analyse computing requirements (CPU, GPU, edge) and integrate the perception stack into the overall robotic system.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and system teams to guarantee reliable sensor‑motor loops.

Required profile

• Strong background in robotics, computer vision or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience with real‑time perception algorithm development.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team.
