Senior Site Reliability Engineer, PaaS

About the role

Algolia, a search and product discovery platform, is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (IC4) for its Platform as a Service (PaaS) team in Paris. The PaaS team builds toolchains, guidelines and standards that enable automation, CI/CD, observability and reliability in a secure cloud-native environment. The role bridges junior and senior staff, improving infrastructure, observability standards and CI/CD processes, and helps move legacy systems toward a modern Kubernetes-based architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, optimization and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and help standardize services on the platform.
• Lead improvements to observability of critical systems, including monitoring and alerting frameworks, and help troubleshoot complex issues.
• Contribute to the Kubernetes-based architecture and cloud solutions for API management and microservices.
• Work on system scalability and performance, optimizing resource use and cost efficiency while keeping availability high.
• Mentor mid-level engineers (IC3) on technical challenges and SRE best practices, and support knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with product, software and other SRE teams to align platform goals with business objectives and improve stability, security and scalability.

Required profile

• Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, and good organizational skills.

Required skills

• Golang and Python; Ruby is a plus.
• CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• Monitoring, alerting and observability frameworks.
• Kubernetes and public clouds such as GCP, AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Distributed systems at scale.

What we offer

• Base salary range of 69,768 to 96,900 EUR.
