Senior Project Manager – Capital Investment Projects

About the role

Solvay is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale capital investment projects at its La Rochelle site. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from front‑end loading through execution and commissioning, while ensuring alignment with Solvay’s project methodology and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned key projects with budgets of €20‑50 million, coordinating engineering contractors and internal business units.
• Interface with Global Business Unit management and report progress to the Project Steering Committee on a monthly basis.
• Ensure project design, execution, governance and leadership adhere to Solvay’s stage‑gate process (FEL‑1 to FEL‑3 and execution).
• Lead virtual engineering teams, supervise direct reports and third‑party contractors through commissioning and start‑up.
• Monitor risks, budgets, and performance metrics, delivering regular status updates.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing large industrial capital projects.
• Proven leadership of international, multi‑disciplinary project teams.
• Fluent in English and French.
• PMP or equivalent project‑management certification is a plus.
