Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team developing advanced medical imaging equipment, including X‑ray systems. The position is permanent, full‑time and based in southern France, offering hybrid and remote working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical systems for high‑precision medical imaging equipment.
• Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, calculations and tolerance studies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, software, production, quality).
• Manage prototypes, testing, validation and product risk analysis.
• Coordinate external suppliers and engineering subcontractors.
• Define technical specifications, project milestones and deliverables.
• Support industrialisation and production transfer activities.
• Track project timelines, costs, quality and technical performance.
• Potentially lead a small mechanical team.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or mechatronics, preferably in regulated or complex technical environments.
• Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries is a plus.
• Proven ability to structure projects and validate technical deliverables.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical design of complex products.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, assemblies and tolerancing.
• Experience managing technical suppliers or external design partners.
• Familiarity with IEC 60601 and ISO 14971 standards.
• Mechatronics and mechanical simulation expertise.
• International supplier management experience.
