Senior Accountant – French GAAP Specialist

About the role

Shiftmove, a fast‑growing B2B SaaS platform for fleet management, is looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen its French accounting operations. You will join the corporate finance team and take ownership of complex accounting tasks across major French entities during a critical scaling phase.

Key responsibilities

• Implement group accounting standards and reporting requirements from headquarters while aligning with local French practices.
• Prepare and post complex accounting entries in full compliance with French GAAP.
• Own end‑to‑end monthly and annual financial closings, ensuring accurate ledgers.
• Prepare statutory accounts and support upcoming audits with clear documentation.
• Manage French VAT declarations, corporate tax preparations, and all required local tax filings.
• Reconcile payroll entries, social contributions, bank statements and key balance‑sheet accounts.
• Identify financial inconsistencies or data‑quality issues and propose scalable fixes.
• Collaborate with internal finance teams, auditors, tax advisors and payroll providers.

Required profile

• Professional proficiency in English and French.
• Proven experience operating within an international corporate or head‑quarter environment.
• Deep expertise in French GAAP and statutory accounting requirements.
• Track record of handling complex French tax and payroll compliance.
