Payload Resident Expert – Freelance Consultant

About the role

Responsible for supporting the definition, design, development and oversight of the satellite program in the area of Payload. Manage the assembly, integration and testing of the customer payload, ensuring timely delivery and compliance of the spacecraft payload and TT&C subsystem and associated units.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective achievement of functional objectives as part of the PMO payload team and maintain a cooperative relationship with the manufacturer.
• Provide continuous monitoring of payload and TT&C design, assembly, integration and test campaigns, identifying non‑compliances and schedule impacts.
• Advise the PMO Director on payload and TT&C issues and coordinate with Space Segment Engineering on changes, modifications or waivers.
• Participate in payload, subsystem and system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings, as well as the in‑orbit test campaign.
• Produce accurate progress reports and performance indicators for the payload program.

Required profile

• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years experience managing AIT programs for satellite payloads, with extensive satellite system design, payload and TT&C engineering, and satellite operations.
• Proven project management experience leading engineering teams and satellite AIT programmes, and working with satellite manufacturers.
