New Building Project Manager

About the role

The New Building Project Manager will lead the construction of new vessels for CMA CGM Group, including container ships and RoPax vessels. The role ensures projects comply with quality, safety, environmental and regulatory standards while delivering on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and all relevant international regulations.
• Apply quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies to all activities.
• Develop, report and review continuous performance improvement plans.
• Review shipbuilding drawings, provide comments and obtain approvals in line with contracts.
• Seek expert advice for specific drawing issues when required.
• Monitor drawing approvals, work progress, extra/credit items and specification deviations.
• Lead the initial procurement of stores and spare parts.
• Manage vessel delivery and ensure specification approvals.
• Conduct risk analysis on ongoing projects and report progress.
• Liaise with authorities, incorporate feedback and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Propose new standards and guidelines for shipbuilding projects.
• Coordinate with the RSE team on environmental topics related to shipbuilding.
• Identify, record and monitor KPIs throughout vessel construction.
• Review and apply relevant environmental regulations and CMA CGM environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in naval architecture, maritime engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the maritime industry.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Technical knowledge of vessel design.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective multitasking and organizational capabilities.
