Industry Subject Matter Expert – Applied AI Learning & Curriculum Development

About the role

peopleworth is looking for an experienced Industry Subject Matter Expert to shape a professional learning programme focused on applied artificial intelligence. Working alongside academic contributors and learning design specialists, you will ensure the curriculum reflects current industry practice, emerging trends, and the real‑world capabilities professionals need in an AI‑enabled workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the voice of industry throughout curriculum design and course development activities.
• Provide expert guidance on current and emerging AI applications, technologies, and workplace practices.
• Review and validate curriculum content for relevance, accuracy, and practical value.
• Advise on professional AI workflows, agentic AI, governance, responsible AI adoption, and organisational implementation approaches.
• Translate rapidly evolving industry developments into clear learning priorities and outcomes.
• Participate in collaborative curriculum planning sessions with academic and learning‑design stakeholders.
• Challenge and refine programme content to strengthen employability and workplace relevance.
• Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups while advocating for practical industry needs.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of professional experience in applied artificial intelligence, digital transformation, or a closely related field.
• Proven track record of delivering AI initiatives, transformation programmes, or technology‑enabled business outcomes.
• Strong ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and subject‑matter experts.
• Deep understanding of AI implementation within organisational and team environments.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and translating them into business or professional applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade, and build consensus across diverse groups.
